Lexi had her first dentist appointment a few days ago. We figured it would be a nightmare as she doesn't like people messing with her mouth. It is the ONLY thing she gives the pediatrician any trouble with on her well visits and we've had some teeth brushing sessions at home turn into wrestling matches. So we decide to make the appointment anyway and the front desk lady tells us we only have to pay for what they are actually able to do. Great, sounds good. I walk back with her, we speak briefly with the dentist about her history. They bring her over to the chair and the first thing they decide to do right off the bat is clean her teeth. I'm thinking uh oh, this isn't gonna be pretty. She climbs up on the chair, lays back, they put on cute little sunglasses so the light doesn't hurt her eyes and then....AAAAAAHHHHHHHH she opens her mouth as wide as can be and they clean her teeth. Whose child is this???? I was SO proud! Flossing was next and then x-rays followed which went just as smooth. Only exception being she gagged on the last one and wouldn't do it again. Then the dentist did a little exam, used the pokey scraper thing which, I, myself HATE!! A little fluoride and that was it. Her teeth look great and we go back in 6 months. Incredible.
We also had Santa come take the binky the night before the dentist to bring them to the babies who need them for Christmas. Santa left her a prize in her bed in place to thank her. (A little baby monkey "mon chi chi" that she was loving in Target that day) She has asked for binky each night since but with just a little whining and minimal crying. And she has been sleeping fine. YAY!!! We had thought this was going to be MUCH more difficult. The hardest part was me realizing the first night that she wasn't a baby anymore and bawled my eyes out. Being a mom turns you into a total weinie!!!!
Haidyn finally learned to roll from front to back after rolling from back to front for a couple months!! Now all of a sudden she is little miss overachiever and is trying to crawl!! Lexi crawled on her 6 month birthday and I think Haidyn is about to follow in her footsteps. Funny because she is far from mastering sitting up but she is well on her way to crawling. She is too cute watching her trying to figure it all out!

So proud of Lexi! Wow. She did better at the dentist than I usually do. :) :)
